Project CitySprout
Project CitySprout was created by four Morehead-Cain Scholars from UNC Chapel Hill that have a goal to make urban farming as accessible, effortless, and efficient as possible. Project CitySprout came about during the 8 weeks of our sophomore summers and highlights the beautification work we did in Baltimore.

As Morehead-Cain Scholars, a summer of ours is dedicated to solving a civic issue in a city in the US, our team was placed in Baltimore, Maryland. We were tasked with improving the resources for urban farms, their overall operation, and their relationship with their communities.
We wanted to make urban farming as accessible, effortless, and efficient as possible. The initial weeks of our project were spent interviewing community members and farm owners to gain a better understanding of their needs and challenges. We then began planning our project, which included developing a detailed project plan, identifying potential partners, and creating a timeline. We were extremely interested in leaving Baltimore with something tangible, and that's how Project CitySprout came about. The CitySprout app is separate from the project, and is not owned or encompassed by it.
